First Anthony J. Krol Scholar Named

Joshua Davids has been named as the first Anthony J. Krol Scholar at ICCS. He will enroll in September 2013. The family of Anthony J. Krol, Spring 1974, recently established a memorial scholarship fund in his memory, as Tony loved his time at the Centro. Tony died on November 29, 2012, and he is remembered as a devoted husband and father, as well as a very successful attorney. ICCS is most grateful to the Krol family and friends for remembering the Centro in this way.  Joshua sent us the following information about himself: "I grew up in Seattle, Washington, where I went to Garfield High School. I'm currently a sophomore at Carleton College. I'm a Classical Studies major - not sure what career path I'll take yet. I've loved the history and culture of the ancient world since first learning about it in elementary school, but knew it was what I wanted to study when I began to learn Latin in high school. I heard about ICCS through the Classics department at my college, and after speaking to classmates who had attended, I knew it was exactly what I wanted to do. I am excited to visit Rome for the first time and to get the chance to learn about the the history of the Ancient World while living in its center! I am very honored to serve as the first Anthony J. Krol Scholar."
